Lilly "The Comedian"

Well, you guessed it...we saw Dr. Parks today. Jack was unable to go due to being in class, he is learning to habla en copspanol! Back to the point- since Jack couldn't go my Mom went with me. I was not planning on much at the appointment but what a surprise it turned out to be. It turns out Lilly might be a little smarty pants like her Momma. (and that is putting it nicely)

First I did the normal testing stuff, p in a cup and the dreaded scale. "A LOT" that is all I am going to say about my weight. Next we heard Lilly's strong heartbeat then I was told to drop my drawers for an exam. I did not think Parks was going to do one this visit and I was not super excited about getting it. The last 3 I had made me very sore the next day, but it turned out to be a good thing. (plus it made my mom happy)
Soooo, Parks begins the exam with "OK here comes some pressure"! Nothing, it did not bother me at all. My first thought was YES!!!! I have really dialated this time. Instead Parks says "OK you are still 1 cm dialated and...hold on more pressure...I can't feel her head anymore"

WHAT!! ARE YOU FOR REAL!

Parks said "I need to do a quick ultrasound cause if she has rotated we need to schedule a c-section".

At that point I think my heart actually stopped beating for a minute. As I waddled myself to the ultrasound room all I could say was "BAD BABY, wait til your Daddy hears about this!".

The good news is Lilly is still in a head down position! The frustrating news is that with her fluttering about she is not helping to promote labor.
Our next appt. is scheduled for Monday. Parks wants another ultrasound to make sure Lilly is not still playing games and actually does flip flop. Hopefully all is good and our delivery can proceed as normal. I really do not want a c-section.
Please keep both the Haley's and us in your thoughts as both families are in the final stretch and would really like our little girls to come naturally.

37+ Weeks

Our visit with Dr. Parks today went well. She said my BP is good and that I am dilated 1cm. When she was walking out of the room she said "I will see you in 1 week, and I bet you will still be pregnant!" Ughhh, I want her to COME OUT NOW! I was really keeping my fingers crossed and wishing that she would be born on my Mom's and my birthday (May 20th) That would make 3 generations with the same b-day. Unfortunately that will not be happening since it is tomorrow. Oh well, with my luck she will decide to come on the 21st. That would be great as well, we are ready to meet her.

Our next appt. is on Tuesday the 27th. I hope there is more exciting news to share after that one.

On Sunday we had a baby shower thrown by Jack's family. It was such a great time. Cute decorations picked out by his sister(Summer), a very yummy and adorable cake, and some tasty BBQ.

LAST BUT NOT LEAST!
We want to say THANK YOU to all our friends and family, who showered Lilly with so many wonderful clothes, toys, and necessities. Your generosity has helped us greatly. We were very moved by all the love and support you have given to us and our little...umm... chunkster Lilly!

This is crazy!

I was really busy at work again today and found this web quiz site. I started doing a couple of them and found the "what kind of flower are you" I took the quiz and here was the answer...

You Are A Lily

You are a nurturer and all around natural therapist.

People see you as their rock. And they are able to depend on you.

You are a soothing influence. You can make people feel better with a few words.

Your caring has more of an impact than even you realize.

Though I don't think the "description is quite accurate. LOL

36+ week

Today's Dr. appt. was good. My BP is 120/80 and looking good. My results were negative for Strep B. The internal exam was interesting. Dr. Parks said she would not do one at this visit, but b/c I have had some changes we decided to go for it.
Ever since last week I have started feeling uncomfortable. Last night at bedtime I got really nauseous and started having abdominal and back pain. After almost 15 minutes it became tolerable and I was able to go to sleep. When I woke up at 4am I was feeling ok and decided to go into work early. (I am so glad my supervisors are being very flexible with my schedule) At work the nausea returned along with the cramping and "internal" PAINS, like getting kicked by a horse in the crotch! UGHHH So this is why we decided to get checked and the results are...

Zero dilation, BUT- Dr. Parks said my cervix has definitely changed and thinned out. She said she can feel Lilly's head pushing down. YAY!

Dr. P said my symptoms are normal late pregnancy aches and discomforts. She also mentioned that this could be the start of labor and that it could happen any time now or we could go to our due date. Thanks for narrowing it down eh! I also mentioned my concern for Lilly's size. Dr. P said not to worry that if she was 5.5lbs at 33 weeks she is probably ~7lbs now. I thought they gained a Lb a week from ~32 weeks to the end, Dr. P corrected me saying it is usually about 1/2lb per week. This does not make me feel better since I gained 4 lbs in 1 week. Dr. P said it is water weight and it should come off pretty quick after delivery.

I think I have been having BH contractions a lot more frequently...LIKE RIGHT NOW! How cool is that. We are so ready to meet her.

Jack packed his hospital bag last week and is getting really excited. He asked me what movies I might want him to pack...Uhh... "Baby, I seriously doubt that I am going to be up for a movie marathon during labor". I think he does not want to forget anything so it is better to pack everything. LOL Jack surprised me on Mother's Day by having Lilly's diaper bag embroidered with her name. It was so sweet and turned out really cute.

Lastly, Jack is really anticipating "the phone call". The other day I called for some dumb reason while he was at work. He answered by whispering "Is it an emergency? I'm on a family violence". So funny, before he would have ignored my call (understandably) and called me back when he wasn't busy. Now he rarely misses a call or if he does he calls me back in minutes.

Lilly Update 35+ weeks

We had yet another check-up today with Dr. Parks. We go once a week now. Thankfully she said everything looks great! She checked to see if I have dialated any and we are at zero. She said she could feel Lilly's head in there, which is a good sign that she is in the right position. She said she would not check me again next week unless I really wanted to know or if I have had any signs of change. I was also tested for Strep B, which if positive just means an IV antibiotic during labor. We should find out next visit.

Well, on Saturday we had an amazing baby shower. There was a great turnout of friends and family. Lilly totally scored with a lot of great stuff. Here are a few pictures.

I want to thank Kerrie, Sabrina, Meredith, Jamie, and Jenny for hosting such a great party. I loved the decorations and of course the food, yay for 7 layer dip!

After our appointment today Jack and I went to Babies R Us and Walmart to get some goodies with our gift cards. We got a portable crib, bath tub, car seat base (which we are returning b/c Jack decided he did not want one), medical kit, thermometer, towels, wash cloths, sheets, crib pad, stroller purse hooks, teethers, toy keys, car mirror, lullaby CD, burp cloths... that is all I can remember. But what a loot, eh! Later this week we will hit Target ;-).
