1lb..2lb..

3lbs gone!

I am two weeks in and actually 4 pounds less! WoooHoooo. I am really starting to get the hang of this "lifestyle change". (They don't like to call it a diet) I am not having to starve myself at all, and I still get to pleasure my taste buds with chocolate every day. It has been a little hard when we go out to eat, but over all it's good. Jack started with me but he is mainly just eating better rather than counting points. Of course he is dropping weight at an insane rate. WHATEVER!

OK- I started a Facebook account. 2 things:
1- It is like computer crack b/c you can be on it for hours before realizing you forgot to go to bed.
2- It is like an STD the way it has spread among all our friends. (maybe not the best example)
I don't get it. I will try to figure it out, but I am still a bigger fan of the blog!

4 months & 4 shots!

We can't believe Lilly is already 4 months old. It is amazing what a baby learns in such a short time. Such as...
*Rolling all over the place.
*Picking up her toys.
*Turning her head to look at us when we talk.
*Laughing when you are being silly.

as well as cause and effect:
*Pouting will get her cuddled.
*Screaming will get her fed.
We took Lilly to her 4 month appointment today. The Dr. said she looks great and is right on track. Unfortunately she had to get her shots and had a pretty miserable day from then on...when she was awake. Thankfully she was able to nap most of the day, I thank the makers of Tylenol for that. Her stats are as follows:

Weight- 14lbs 1oz- 75%

Height- 24 3/4 in- 75%

Head- 17 1/4 in- 95%

During the appt. we were discussing Lilly's prior Diaper rash...more like Diaper 2nd degree burn. It was so bad the poor thing was bleeding and blistering. As soon as she went potty she would start screaming. There is nothing worse than your baby crying in pain and looking at you with "help me!" eyes, and nothing you do makes it better. The Dr. gave us a tip- put Maalox or Mylanta on it, before the butt paste. She said it reduces the acid (go figure) which is why it burns.

The other day Jack and I took Lilly to the pumpkin patch for some pictures. Before we ventured off I wanted to put her in her pumpkin outfit to see how it fit. Our precious little peanut was quite the ham when we got her into the getup. A few of these I took at the house before we left. She was not as happy for her photos at the pumpkin patch, but at the house...you'll see!

I told you Lilly was a comedian...

This costume is for the BIRDS! (like the one Lilly is giving)

Here are a few more pictures from month 4. Jack wanted to get Lilly a onesie from Children's Place that said "will the Paparazzi ever leave me alone", Funny man calling me paparazzi. OK, so I take a lot of pics- I want to remember everything!

I'M OVER IT!!!

I'm totally over being over weight to the point of morbid obesity! I am going to post the most recent picture of myself today...sigh. I started weight watchers last Friday at a weight that I will not disclose at this time or probably ever.

It all really started when I returned to work. I was really hoping that 3 months would have been enough time to get back to my pre-baby weight (which was still not pretty). This was one of the reasons I really wanted to breastfeed for as long as I could. Muchas Gracias Ike for ruining that for me. After getting into my uniform and looking at myself in the mirror I about died. Not only did I have to get uniform "fat pants", I now have that bulge below the belt. Well actually I have the bulge above and below, it is really quite disgusting. I like to call it my muffin top belly. There is also the fact that I am still more comfortable in my maternity clothes than anything else.

ANYWAY, by publicly announcing my weight loss attempt I hope it will help me stick with it. I was thinking about it and (this sounds like a diet commercial) I want to be in good shape for Lilly. and...
I don't want to be the "big" mom.

I don't want to be ashamed of myself for not trying.

I want to look good for my husband.

I want to feel comfortable in my clothes.

I want to wear a tank top for the first time in YEARS.

I want to walk on a pool deck/beach without having to cover myself from head to toe- due to total embarrassment.

I want to love my body!

Here is my before:

That is totally hot right...right??????? I'm a friggin disaster!

OK, it's time for a healthier me. Wish me strength to keep away from everything chocolate. Mmmmmmmmm chocolate, mocha frapps, Reese's pb cups, coch chip cookies, cheesecake. This is really traumatic for me BUT I can do it.

I will do a Lilly update Wednesday.

Photo update

I have some recent pictures I thought I would post. Things have been busy lately and we are trying to get back into a routine with Lilly. I can't believe how much she changes. Every day there is something new. Lately it has been talking...Lilly is definitely mine. The girl is a chatterbox. She talks to her toys, the TV, us, and the dog. I say dog in the singular text because Ol' Rileyman does not care one bit about Lilly and keeps his distance. Kimber on the other hand is very interested in everything Lilly. Today Kimber gave her a big smooch and she started laughing! It was cute after I got over the fact that the dog just slobbered on her face. Lilly rolls over and spins all over the floor now. Here are the latest pics...She went from hating being on her belly to favorite sleeping position in 1 day!

She will hate me for this one day, but who can resist giggling at the sight of a chubby tushy!

She has the brightest smile, we love it!

Tummy time without tears!

This is a better picture of Jacks new truck...we LOVE it!!!

Lastly, I wanted to show you these pictures. The first one was taken by me on our trip to Kemah on the Wednesday before Hurricane Ike blew in...

This next one is after...

We are so glad we made the trip when we did. It will be a great story for Lilly. This was her first amusement park ride.

Lilly is almost 4 months old now. She goes in for her next Dr. appt. on the 15th. I will update again with stats and birthday pics!
