Liam joined our little family on December 1st, 2010 at 12:24pm. He was 8lbs 7oz and 20.5in.

Liam was scheduled to be delivered by c-section due to my prior birth experience. The night before the delivery we went out to eat with my parents and they took Lilly for the next couple of days. When we got home that night I popped 2 Tylenol PM's and played on the computer until they kicked in. When I crawled into bed I passed out and slept better than I had in a couple days. Our surgery was scheduled for noon on the 1st. Jack & I headed towards the hospital with me behind the wheel. I thought it would be fun to say I drove myself to the hospital to have a baby. Once we arrived things moved pretty quick. We arrived at 10:45am and were in triage by 11am. I finally started to let the reality of what was about to happen kick in and I started feeling pretty nervous. I had been dreading the recovery, remembering how bad I felt last time. I was also totally freaked out about the spinal injection I would be getting. The shot wasn't as bad as I remembered, the surgery was super fast, recovery was so much better, Liam took to feeding like a champ, and Jack was incredibly supportive yet again!

Overall the second go-round was much better than the first. I think there are numerous factors that made it that way. I only gained about 30 pounds compared to 50+ with Lilly. I was way more active during this pregnancy having a 2 yr old to keep up with. I didn't labor for 12 hours before having the c-section. Our prior experiences and lessons learned.

Liam is a healthy baby boy and so far has been a very "easy" baby. Lilly has stepped into her roll as a big sister proudly. She really loves Liam and asks to see and hold him first thing every morning. She is pretty helpful when it comes to him, but as far as us...mainly me...Lilly has been crying for attention (NEGATIVE ATTENTION). We have been battling with her ignoring us...mainly me...and crying a lot more than normal. Jack decided now was a good time to actively potty train Lilly since we would be home with her. So far so good. Jack will have to go back to work next week leaving me to juggle a newborn and potty training. I am just glad he got the first 3 weeks off to help.
I think Liam looks just like Jack. I'm actually wondering if he is going to be a blondy. You can barely see his eyelashes and eye brows, the hair is very light. I think he is SUPER CUTE and a sweet cuddle bug.
Liam had his two week appointment yesterday. The Dr. said he looks great and is doing really well. His stats are:
WEIGHT - 8lbs 11oz
LENGTGH - 20.75 in
HEAD - 15.75 in
MERRY CHRISTMAS
AND
HAPPY NEW YEAR
